TSUYOSHIKOIZUMI

Born in Meguro, Tokyo, in 2004, Tsuyoshi Koizumi began playing the saxophone at the age of ten. He received his early musical training at the Sengawa branch of Toho Gakuen’s Music School for Children, and is currently in his fourth year at the Toho Gakuen School of Music.

He has studied the saxophone with Takuya Tanaka, Masanori Oishi, and Ken-ichiro Muto, and the piano with Keiko Imai, Hiroyuki Nakayama, Tetsuya Akiyama, Mio Aizawa, and Mai Miyaki. He has attended masterclasses given by Claude Delangle, Christian Wirth, Sandro Compagnon, Nicolas Arsenijevic, Joonatan Rautiola, and Mariano Garcia. In 2026 he took part in the Habanera Saxophone Academy in France, attending masterclasses with Sylvain Malézieux, Gilles Tressos, Nicolas Mizen, Christophe Bois, and Emilie Heurtevent.

Selected as one of his school’s top-ranking students, he has appeared in the “Evening of Wind Ensembles” concerts at the Toho Gakuen School of Music. He performs on a wide variety of stages — concert halls, cultural institutions, schools, temples and shrines, and commercial spaces — and his activities extend throughout Japan and abroad, including community cultural events, outreach performances at schools, and wind-band coaching.

He is the founder and representative of the Aube Philharmonic Orchestra Japan, an orchestra formed by aspiring young musicians from across the country, and the director of the Aube Music Academy, a music school taught by conservatory students. Through performance, education, and the planning and production of concerts, he continues to pursue new possibilities in music.
